I occasionally upload video I record with Nvidia Shadowplay to Youtube. I don't do annihilation professional. I just do it to share game clips with my friends. I recorded this video at it's native 2560x1440 resolution and 60 FPS.
I used Blender to trim the parts I didn't need out and made sure the render output was set up to 1440p and 60 FPS. I however have the edited video file on my PC and can confirm that it is a 1440p video. For some reason the quality settings when I try to watch it on Youtube merely go upwardly to 1080p 60 FPS. I am able to watch other Youtube videos at 1440p but not mine.
I fabricated certain to follow Youtube'south recommended upload encoding settings found hither. https://support.google.com/youtube/reply/1722171?hl=en
I used the recommenced H.264 24Mbps for 1440p 60 FPS video that they recommend. The audio is the recommended AAC merely I misread the recommended bitrate and used 192kbps instead of 384kbps. I actually incertitude the fact that my audio is below the recommended bitrate is the problem though.
Any ideas for getting Youtube to display my 1440p videos at 1440p instead of 1080p?

Weird. The 1440p60 selection does show up in Chrome. That makes no sense though since I can watch other 1440p videos in Firefox.
The highest selection for the video I linked in Firefox is still 1080p60 on both of my computers. I even cleared my cache.

I know when 1080p60 beginning came out, only Chrome allowed you to actually utilise it.

I had the same problem as you and with me the trouble was with Adobe Flashplayer. You can force youtube to play the video's via HTML 5 by adding ?html5=1. Than you should be able to go the 1440p and 2160p selection too.

Ameliorate however, I completely uninstalled Flash and Coffee from all of my computers near the beginning of this twelvemonth. I got sick of reading well-nigh the security problems and having information technology ask me to install updates almost every other week.
I take been free of Flash and Coffee for probably ten months now and I can barely tell the deviation. Most every website including video streaming sites work just also if not improve with HTML 5.
The only badgerer I have see is that Audible's PC website for listening to audiobooks requires Flash. I used to use that to listen to books at work all the time. I have gotten around that past using the app on my telephone instead.
